ECO 4 Funding
For qualifying households in Scotland, the Government is providing funding to pay for new boilers and renewable heating systems. It means a warmer and more energy-efficient home with lower heating costs.
If you receive certain benefits like Pension Credit, Universal Credit, or Housing Benefits, you’re probably eligible for the ECO4 scheme. If you don’t receive any of these, you might still qualify through your council’s ECO4 Flex rules. The ECO4 Flex rules apply if your yearly income is under £31,000, you have a health condition worsened by living in a cold home, or you’re vulnerable to cold home effects. The ECO4 Scheme is open until March 2026.

ECO4 is part of the Government’s plan to improve housing that is currently not energy efficient. Property that is home to low-income and vulnerable families can be upgraded for free. That means a more comfortable place to live for those who need it most. At the same time, it will cost less to heat the home, and environmental air quality will be improved for all of us.
